Take a look at the tour at JapanBoyz and you’ll be left in no doubt what you’ll get when you sign up: images, videos, information and loads of smooth and sexy oriental boys indulging in hot gay sex. There are solo videos and couples in action, hundreds of images in the galleries, links to chat and dating sites, a site forum and three bonus sites to access with your login details. And all of that content stays well within the Japanese and Asian niche.

It looks like JapanBoyz has had some recent updates and changes; there’s a welcome message which states that the site now has the highest quality videos and images plus bonus access and other extra features. So let’s have a good look around and see exactly what there is.

First off you get the impression that the site knows what it’s talking about and what it wants to show you. The guys that adorn the pages are all slim and cute, Japanese, oriental or Asian in looks and all sexy – so we’re definitely in a niche site here. The videos are well presented with large thumbnails to show you who is in them. There aren’t that many of them as yet, only twenty or so but we’re after quality here not necessarily quantity. I clicked one of the members’ favourites to get a feel for the technicalities as well as the movies themselves.

Here I had a 50 minute long movie that came with a write up, a set of screen shots and the download details. I could stream the movie, in which case a new screen opened with the media player in it, or I could opt to download the entire thing in one file. The high bandwidth MPG file, in this case, was 1,025 Mbs in size (!) and the other version, an MP4 version was 197 Mbs – so if you’re on a dial up connection… well, start the download and go to bed I guess. I did manage to find out some more technical details for you though: the MPG screen size is 352 x 240 and plays at 700 kbps and the MP4 version is 320 x 240 @ 125 kbps and there are no DRM restrictions on the movies.

As I mentioned, the guys on the site and in the movies are youthful and sexy; there are many solo scenes and many couples in action too. Not all of the movies are as long or as large a file size as the one I mentioned above, some are only ten minutes and much smaller files, it’s a question of content – the solo jack off scenes tend to be shorter and smaller files, for example.

I also mentioned the thumbnail/screen caps that come with the movies – these aren’t really galleries as such just a small collection of images to give you an idea of what’s in each movie. If you want proper images then go to the photos area. There are around 40 galleries here with varying amounts of images in each set. Checking the image sizes I found them to click up to 650 x 867 in size and to be of a reasonable quality. Browsing around the galleries I got the impression hat these photos were taken by an enthusiastic amateur rather than a paid professional photographer. I may be entirely wrong but there was a reality feel to some of them, like a guy had paid a young Japanese lad to come to his hotel, strip, wank and jerk off while being photographed; there were some lighting issues for example. But having said that it did give a raw edge to the images and make them even more real – if you see what I mean.

So, after the exclusive videos and photo sets what else waits for you when you join JapanBoys?

Well, you can access other similarly themed sites too for a start. The Bonus Site link on the top menu will take you to a page where you can access three extras sites. You have Gay Asian Amateurs, with ‘the naughtiest, horniest and sexiest boys from all over Asia’ featured in galleries and movies. There is Boykakke which is another Oriental/Asian site dedicated to smooth young guys and facial cum shots. And you have access to Gay Asian Anime which is a toon and flash site with erotic drawings, on-going cartoon series and Flash DVDs, again all with an Asian theme. These site are – or soon will be – reviewed on these pages so you can take a look at them in more details but one thing’s for sure – they really do add value for money to your membership. Join one and join them all! They’re all on the same theme, they stick to their niche and they’re all of a good quality.

There is also a part of the site with streaming media. Basically these are links into feed sites with Gay Asian featured first. This is third party content and the kinds of media players in use will vary as will the subject matter. Apart from the Asian one you have other genres like bears, leather, interracial and classic gay movies. Usually with these sites it’s stream only but some also have images you can download.

The Live Cams area of the site doesn’t actually provide you with the site’s own live cams but instead links you over to another site. It is Asian themed though, which is good, but it’s not entirely free. For a live cam show you can expect to pay from $1.99 a minute and for the pay per view theatre $0.99 per minute. You do get to chat live though and watch the boys perform live strips and so on – so take a look and decide for yourself if this is the kind of thing you want to pay extra for.

The Personals area works in the same way. You have pages of sweet looking Asian guys’ face pics and, when you click one, a new window opens. Here you can see pics of all the guys who are registered at Kiss Japan – an online community and personals site. You can register, set up your profile, join in the forums and send messages to the guys on the site – all of whom are looking for Asian mates or who are Asian guys looking for new friends and contacts. It’s a great little community set up and, though not really a part of JapanBoyz it is a good addition to the site. And it’s also good that the site points you to other things Asian that are not necessarily to do with sex... and talking of such things: there is a JapanBoys specific forum on the site. Enter your login details to access it and you can start swapping messages with other members and the webmasters themselves.

All of this content and all of these extras can be found on the main home page in the members’ area where you will also get update news. You’ll also see a link over to a DVD store here where you can buy Asian gay sex DVDs for as little as $19.99 – check delivery and postage options too though, just in case. And there is a link to a help section down at the bottom there too if you have any trouble but I, for one, didn’t have any technical problems when I was in the site. Everything ran smoothly and it was easy to find my way around. A few more videos would help boost the site a bit but there are more in the bonus sites so I’m not complaining.

I enjoyed my visit to this site and if you have a thing for cute and sexy Japanese boys and other oriental cuties then you’ll enjoy your visit even more. Everything ran well, there were some good movies – some big files too! The guys were hot and sexy and the bonus sites really are that – a bonus. You get much more content for your membership with these extras that include cartoons, more videos and illustrated stories. The extras are good too because they bring you more than just sex.
